This wheel-thrown bowl has a 6" diameter and stands 4" tall. Eye-catching on its own, or add a tealight for additional drama.
Once the bowl has the bottom trimmed it is wrapped in wet newspaper to re-soften it and then it is cut freehand to resemble branching trees.
The bowl is then glazed first with the darker glaze. When the glaze has semi-dried the foliage part of the bowl gets scraped to remove the glaze, at which point the bowl gets dipped upside down in the bronze glaze to cover the exposed clay.
