I am constantly inspired by the beauty around me, whether it be a rushing waterfall, colourful river rocks or even my worn, comfy sneakers. When I paint a landscape of a place I’ve recently visited, I may be remembering the smell of the pine needles underfoot and how the warm sun felt on my shoulders. While painting my sneakers, I can feel the way the worn canvas has formed to my bare toes and soles of my feet, so perfectly. With the use of texture and colour, I strive to express these emotions through my artwork.
