A local Sooke sculptor and photographer, Katherine finds inspiration in the wildlife and rugged beauty of the west coast, where she has lived all her life. She began carving in wood at an early age, turning it into a profession in her early twenties. Her current focus is primarily on soapstone, shaping hardened materials into soft, minimalist curves to reveal lifelike portraits of the animals of the region.
