Gertie Zeiter loves to experiment with both old and new technologies to push the boundaries of creating art in glass. In her words:
"I design the model on my computer, then print it in 3D. The model is invested in plaster, and the 3D original is burned out in the kiln. Glass is added to the newly made plaster mold and fired again in the kiln. This entire process takes 2 1/2 to 3 days from start to finish. The final piece is cold-finished through grinding and polishing to remove any unwanted edges."
This two-piece sculpture measure 2 7/8" in height.
